How to Resize Your Artwork for Large Format Banner Printing
Share
Start with Scalable Files
Always begin with vector formats (AI, EPS, SVG) for smooth scaling. If you're working with raster images (JPEG, PNG), ensure a minimum of 150 dpi at full print size. For huge banners, a resolution of 300 dpi at 1/3 scale is ideal.
Check Bleed, Crop Marks & Safe Zones
Add 2–4 inches of bleed around your artwork to prevent edge trimming from cutting into content. Include crop marks to guide printers. Leave logo or CTA elements at least 6 inches away from edges for visibility and durability during installation.
Export with Print Specs in Mind
Export your final design as a flattened PDF with CMYK color profile and embedded fonts. Ensure layers are merged, images are high-resolution, and file size is optimized for easy upload.
